Boorman Lawyers TV is the video case-study library of Boorman Lawyers. Joshua Boorman, the firm’s Principal, talks through real drink driving, drug driving and traffic matters from Queensland and New South Wales courts: what happened, what the court looked at, and what made the difference. Each court case video is written up here as a plain-English case study.
What Boorman Lawyers TV is
The Boorman Lawyers YouTube channel started in 2016 and now holds more than 180 videos. This site gathers the court case videos into one library you can sort by state, offence and court town, so you can find matters like the one you are facing.
Each case study page includes:
- The video, with Joshua explaining the matter in his own words.
- A written case review: the charge, how the matter was prepared, what counted for and against, and the outcome.
- Key takeaways and FAQs drawn from that video.
- The full transcript, for anyone who would rather read than watch.
- Key general information for that state, with links to official sources.
A few videos sit on their own, without a written case study, until captions are available for them.
Why Joshua makes the case-study videos
A drink or drug driving charge raises the same questions every time. What happens at court? What will the magistrate look at? What can make a difference to the penalty? Joshua makes these videos to answer those questions with real matters, not theory, and many of them are recorded straight from the courthouse steps.
Seeing how other matters were prepared and decided helps people walk into court knowing what to expect. That’s the point of every video on this site.
Who the videos are for
- People charged with a drink driving, drug driving or traffic offence in Queensland or New South Wales who want to understand the process before their court date.
- Queensland drivers looking into a work licence or a special hardship order.
- Family members and friends supporting someone through a court matter.
The videos explain how other people’s matters were handled. They can’t tell you how yours will go, because every case turns on its own facts.
How to use the video library
- Start with your state. The law, the courts and the penalties differ, so every video is labelled QLD or NSW.
- Pick the offence. Browse drink driving, drug driving or work licences.
- Find your court. The court-town guides cover regional and city courts across both states.
- Check the date. Each video reflects the law at the time it was recorded, and the law changes.
You can also browse every case in the full video library, or watch and subscribe on the Boorman Lawyers YouTube channel.
